Prof. Dr. Deniz Ceylan and Hakan Avcı were in Adana to compete in the TEKNOFEST 2024 Champions League and receive their silver medals, which they had previously won in the TUBITAK 2242 competition.

Hakan Avcı received his second award from TÜBİTAK with his project aiming at the treatment of pancreatic cancer, which he prepared under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Deniz Ceylan. The project was awarded the second prize.

Our valuable PolyDenGels team members Burak Aydın and Hakan Avcı have successfully completed their graduation theses in the direction of supervisor Prof Dr. Deniz Ceylan. Preparation of Poly(N- Acryloyl 2-Glycine) (PNAG) Microcapsules by Microfluidics Method, a thesis by Burak Aydın, and Synthesis and Characterization of Ionic Cross-Linked Starch Mıcrospheres, a thesis by Hakan Avcı, were presented.

The TÜBİTAK 1001 project named “Design and Application of Fast, Practical and Controllable Thermoirisbone-Irislattice Systems for Use in Vertical Bone Augmentation”, which was supervised by Dr. Emine Fulya AKKOYUN and whose project team included Dr. Taha PERGEL and also Prof. Dr. Deniz CEYLAN TUNCABOYLU and Dr. Hüsna KILIÇ from our PolyDenGels team was accepted.

Another Tübitak 1001 project of the PolyDenGels team, titled “Designing Spheroid-Containing Bio-inks with a New Method” was deemed worthy of support among many project applications. The project, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Deniz CEYLAN TUNCABOYLU, including Dr. Aslıhan ARGUN, was designed within the scope of Alime Eva SARIKAYA‘s PhD Thesis.

The project of Şeymanur Kırmıç Coşgun, one of our doctoral students, was published in the International Journal of Biological Macromolecules with an impact factor of 8.2 under the name “G-POSS linked double-network starch gels for protein release”.

It was decided to support TUSEB project, in which the PolyDenGels Research group is involved.

The project “Development of Bioactive, Eye-Compatible, Muco-adhesive,
Resistant to High Intraocular Pressure, and Cross-Linkable with Tears Drug Carrier Biomaterials for Ocular Tissue Healing and Regeneration”, which was prepared under the direction of Research Asst. Dr. Rümeysa TUTAR at Istanbul University – Cerrahpaşa, has been eligible to receive project support within the framework of TUSEB Group B R&D Project Call.

Bezmialem Vakıf University hosted the health and life sciences and technologies summit, where important participants who worked on projects in a variety of sectors presented their work using prepared posters.

These competitors included members of the PolyDenGels Team; Hüsna KILIÇ, Şeyma Nur KIRMIÇ COŞGUN, and Hakan AVCI stepped forward and effectively proposed their projects to the judges.

FAPS 2023 International Polymer Congress seeks to bring together distinguished scientists and specialists from all over the world to stimulate meaningful discussions and information exchange regarding polymer sciences and technologies.

Our dear instructor Prof. Dr. Deniz CEYLAN TUNCABOYLU, made her presentation to noteworthy participants from various countries.

Of course, the finale was made with Stuffed Mussels and Kokoreç.

My PhD student Hüsna Kılıç successfully passed her PhD defense.
